Charles  Lewis

Charles Lewis "Kevin" was born on June 3, 1957 in Newark, New Jersey, son of the late Charles Lewis, Sr. and Doris Jean Lewis. He departed this life on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at his home in Vauxhall, New Jersey. He was raised in Vauxhall and received his education through the Union Public School system.

Kevin was a Custodial Worker at Congregation B'nai Israel in Millburn, New Jersey where he was employed for several years. He loved his job. He loved his family and had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. It was not unusual for Kevin to spoil them with monetary gifts and snacks. He always encouraged them to do well and be good. He was a kind and giving person who enjoyed basketball and football.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Shaquanda Lewis; sister, Deborah "Debbie" Lewis; brother, Grady "Shady" Lewis and nephew, Grady "Tink" Lewis, Jr.

Kevin is survived by his son, Rajaan Lewis; four brothers: Michael Lewis and wife, Norma of Plainfield, New Jersey, Brian "BK" Lewis and wife, RuthAnn of Riverhead, New York, Aaron "Hymie" Lewis and wife, Michelle of Woodbridge, New Jersey, and Andre "Dre" Lewis and wife, Vernell of Hampton, Virginia; sister, Lorraine "Peaches" Simpson and husband, Henry of Union, New Jersey; six nephews: Corey, Dmitri, Aaron Jr., Cameron, Xavier, and Jaiden; six nieces: Saavedra, Krachelle, Ashleigh, Shaquanah, Kailah-Iman, and Maya; and a host of other great-nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts.
